Older Persons Living Forum
Established a forum which acts as direct feedback to politicians from older members of the community.

The Project
Established a forum which acts as direct feedback to politicians from older members of the community. The forum exists so that older people are included in government decision-making — with their own views reaching ministers and policy makers directly, rather than being reported second-hand.
My Contribution
Set up the forum and the route through which members’ views reach politicians, so that the conversation between the older community and government has a standing place rather than depending on who happens to ask.
In Practice
The forum meets every quarter and its agenda is drawn from members’ own submissions, so the topics come from the people living the experience. Minutes are published, which keeps the exchange on the record and easy to hold to account.
