Counselling Awareness Campaign

Raising awareness that therapists are unregulated — and making it easier to find a qualified one.

The Project

Therapy is unregulated: the title “therapist” is not protected, and most people are not aware of it. This campaign set out to make that visible, and to give people somewhere reliable to turn to once they knew.

My Contribution

Ran the campaign end to end: created and disseminated promotional materials and collateral across the community, ran workshops, and signposted people to resources and lists of qualified therapists. Engaged community partners strategically throughout, including the health department, charities, GPs and clinics.

Why It Matters

Choosing a therapist is a significant decision, usually made with very little information. Naming the regulatory gap — and pairing it with a practical way to find a qualified practitioner — gives people something a warning alone cannot.

The Result

A dedicated resources page gave the campaign a single place to point people to, and met its traffic targets: the message reached the audience it was aiming for.
